How I make a full-time salary from one digital product I hardly talk about

I’ve made £35,000 this year from one digital product I hardly ever mention and I certainly never hard sell.

If I were on the outside looking in I would want to know every detail.

So in today’s deep dive we’re going to go through it all. The backstory, the product, the marketing, the set up - all the details you want to know.

Let’s get into it.

How it all started

The story starts in December 2022 when I made one video that, to date, has reached 160,000 people. In two weeks I had over 10,000 followers. If you’ve not seen my first ever TikTok here it is.

My premise for starting out with content creation was simple - I was documenting my story as I tried to make £100,000 from side hustles alongside my full time job as the director of my own investment company. When I started it was right after Liz Truss had famously set fire to the UK economy after that fateful autumn budget sent the markets into a tailspin and costs soaring across the board. As a result people were panicking about what they were going to do. At the surface people were questioning whether they going to be able to afford Christmas; on a deeper level thousands of people were worried about putting their heating on and thousands more were worried about how they were going to afford to put food on the table. There were two things on people’s minds:

Budgeting and making more money.

Suddenly the internet, specifically TikTok, was flooded with people talking about how you could make extra money online. They spoke of side hustles for the “broke and lazy”, preaching that you could make thousands, millions even, if you just started doing this one thing. Sounding familiar?

So one Sunday evening after a school friend had sent me a message to say he thought he had been scammed - he had just paid £2,000 to one of these creators to learn how to day trade - I decided enough was enough, I was going to publicly test out these side hustles everyone was seeing and share the brutally transparent results as I went.

By this point I had been running businesses for 15 years, and working in start up investing for 8 of those, so I felt confident I knew at least the basics of what I was getting in to.

I won’t go into the details of all the side hustles I tested, you can still watch all of what I affectionately call season 1 of me creating content on my TikTok, but know that in the end I made £88k and I had a baby and went on maternity leave so I did nothing for 3 months of the 12 month experiment.

My most successful side hustle? Selling digital products. And there is one in particular that has quietly been making me a full-time salary…

My £35,000 a year planner

In the last 12 months I have made a full-time salary from selling one digital product I hardly ever talk about. My Notion Ultimate Business & Life Planner. This is an exact template copy of the Notion system and planner I have that helps me run my life and my businesses and I make sales from nearly every day. I’ve split the breakdown up into these sections:

  • Product Development & what makes the product successful

  • Logistics & software

  • The Launch and how it works now the product is evergreen

  • Marketing, Sales and what works

  • Myths

  • What I would do now and digital products in 2025
